#Gaia_shawl
This shawl is origianlly knitted in coorporation with my mother. Together we have agreed on the design elements, and just because the shawl was for my mother, the name Gaia fits perfect! Gaia means the godess of the earth, and symboizes the circle of life. The shawl is worked as a half circle and is worked from the bottom and up, back and forth. First you knit the beautifull edge, which reminds me of seashells, the stockinette stitch before the lace part. The shawl is for the experienced knitter, because of the lace part but the pattern is well written and easy to follow.
Size
One size, ca. L: 140 cm x H: 60 cm after blocking
Please notice that the meassurements can variate depending of the yarn you choose and youre blocking.

2 x 100 gram skeins
Fino from Manos Del Uruguay, 490 meter per 100 gram
Suggested needles
Circular needle size 3,5 mm (U.S. size 4)
120 cm wire (47 inches wire)
Gauge
24 stitches and 39 rows in stockinette stitch
= 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches)
21 stitches and 39 rows in lace pattern
= 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches)
Please note that the gauge is measured after wash and blocking. To achieve the correct gauge it is important to wash and block your swatch before measuring the gauge.
